Cleaning: The easiest way to clean leather is to use leather cleaning solution and swipe with a brush or sponge. Leather on the European children's shoes is usually pre-treated meaning it gets less dirty and it can be cleaned with a soap, water and brush. Leather shoes should never be washed in a washing machine since they will immediately get destroyed. Leather is a breathable, natural material and once soaked in water it stretches, looses durability and color.

Exotic Skins: Ostrich skin, and other reptile skin such as python, lizard, alligator, and crocodile are considered more exotic therefore more expensive then common cow leather. Exotic skins are characterized by their unique textures and natural patterns. The most expensive designer labels often use exotic skins to make unique, one of the kind quality shoes.
Cleaning: Exotic skins are only cleaned with highest quality leather treatments and protectants.

Canvas: Formed out of tightly woven cotton material, canvas shoes come often printed in multicolored patterns or trimmed with other materials such as leather. The material is a lightweight, breathable and inexpensive and perfect for Spring/Summer season. Children canvas shoes or orthopedic slippers are often made out of this material because they offer superior breathability for summer.
Cleaning: Canvas material is easy to clean with brush, soap and water. Canvas shoes can be washed in a washing machine and then air dried.

Synthetic: Synthetic leather is never used on quality European shoes. Although, from the texture and appearance it looks like a natural leather but in reality it is a cheap, not durable imitation. European children's shoes are never made out of synthetic leather simply because they are not durable and do not offer any breathability. Children's feet perspire more then grown-ups therefore natural quality leather is used by every European manufacturer.
Cleaning: Synthetic leather is easy to clean with sponge, soap and water.
